Ode to an Iphone 4

There were others in the window when I first saw you.
I looked at you and I wasn't sure-
I suppose I thought you were slightly out of my league.

I looked at others and I searched around,
But then I came back for you.

You smiled at me in an in-obvious way.
I looked back at you, flirtingly.

I thought of you all night, and wondered,
Should I go back for you?
I wasn't sure.

School girl disguised as a Pastry Chef

"We do NOT tolerate lateness at this school."  Warned the director.

Do you remember your first day at school?  Your parents waving you goodbye by the gates as your mum called, "Don't forget to eat your sandwich!" and your dad smiled "There's my brave girl."

Well, it was like that for me today.  Except without the parents or the sandwich.

Tomorrow I've got Art in the morning and Science in the afternoon.  And the day after I have English in the morning and Technology in the afternoon.  And you know what?  I have never been so excited to start school.  Because despite my form teacher telling us that we all need to behave ourselves and cooperate with one another, I can't wait to bring my pencils in to school for the first drawing lesson.

Patisserie Trial Week

I decided I wanted to do this apprentice thing for a number of reasons:

Pursuits of a Parisian Pâtissière

I love the smell of butter on my finger tips.  I love it when you make pastry and then wash your hands not well so the smell of butter lingers on your fingers and you feel buttery and warm.  I could rub it all over myself instead of spraying myself with perfume.  I would rather wear Butter by Abigail than Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel any day.

Dinner on a gondola

Venice, Italy, 2 July 2013

Last night I made dinner on a gondola for an elderly german couple who were touristing in Venice. And they loved it.

It all started when my friend Tiffany and I were mind-mapping quick money ideas at the beach.  It is quite difficult to find a job in Italy, especially when you don't really want one.

Food From The Revolution. A.K.A. Revolutionary Food.

I’m not one to write about politics.  I suppose the subject makes me feel a little bit awkward, just because I think other people will always know more than me on the subject.  In a group of people, when a political conversation comes up and my opinion is waiting to be heard, I usually repeat whilst rewording what the previous person said but accentuate their point of view with a louder and more convincing voice, often using hand gestures to re-express their opinion in a confident manner.  Some see this as clarifying my understanding of the chosen debate but others view it as a politically motivated individual passionately discussing complicated issues.

Welcome, April.

Today it rained and snowed at the same time.  It rained and then it snowed and then it did both.

It snained.

They say spring is on its way.

There are better things out there.  The sun does still exist.  As does Ryanair.  And British Airways.  They had a sale on actually, British Airways did.  Extra Cheap Business Class Seats.  They did not advertise it exactly as that, but that was the jist.  I bought one.  I needed to see the sky again and see the italian 'moroso [lover].
